Introduction to Functional Safety: IEC61508 and Related Standards
The increasing amount of safety critical functions appearing in our industry need to be addressed as economically as possible. With the liability risks increasing, it is also important that areas of concern are addressed by people with knowledge and competence.
Promtek have taken on the challenge of developing a Functional Safety course relevant to the bulk material handling sector.
Our dedicated Compliance Co-ordinator Michaela worked closely with industry experts in the field of IEC 61508 and related standards, to develop a training day that would deliver benefits from understanding the fundamentals and legal requirements.
To enable us to deliver relevant material at the right level and depth, we also took guidance from a panel of Promtek customers in animal feed milling, discussing their issues, concerns, needs and expectations relating to functional safety. This was invaluable in developing the material.
A full day session jam-packed with relevant information to prepare you for working and developing your manufacturing plant equipment within European standards. The course covers:
- Introduction and overview of duties of suppliers and users of machinery and work equipment
- Fundamentals of functional safety
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination
- What Functional Safety standard should I use?
Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The course is a great introduction for roles such as:
- Safety co-ordinators
- Engineering managers
