Service Engineer

 

Commissioning Engineer

We are currently looking for an Commissioning Engineer, based at our Stoke-on-Trent office, to join our Engineering team and perform commissioning jobs at various sites across the UK, Ireland & Overseas.

Role and Responsibilities

The position will report directly to the Electrical Design Engineer, and will be required to participate in team meetings.

The position will require UK and Overseas travel.

As a Promtek Commissioning Engineer, you will be required to liaise with, and provide support interdepartmentally.

You will also have a responsibility to highlight and suggest areas of development for your own personal development.

Duties specific to the role will include: –

  • Assist in the development of new projects by supporting the sales team to produce accurate quotations where PLC/MCC panels are required.
  • Undertake site surveys, and attend project meetings
  • Liaise with specialist, customers and consultants as required to obtain support and assitance
  • Prepare and manage documentation for commissioning
  • Prepare and maintain Health & Safety documentation
  • Design and specification drawings for PLC and MCC panels
  • Testing and electrical inspection of PLC and MCC Panels
  • Build panels in accordance with drawings
  • Provide cover and support for the service team with regards to 24 hour support and site calibrations
  • Commissioning projects within the UK and overseas
  • Liaise and assist software team with system integrations

General Responsibilities will include: –  

  • To adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and respond  positively to new and alternative systems.
  • To perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with the companies standards and procedures.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grade and level of responsibilities of the post.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • CAD qualification or experience.
  • 17th edition.
  • Mechanical Electrical qualification.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong Team work ethics.
  • Relevant technical expertise such as panel building, design, testing etc.
  • Good IT and analytical skills.
  • Ability to cope with unsocial hours which can be required where our sites have 24-hour operations.

Full Driving license is required.

Current UK passport is desirable.

Service Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

The position will report directly to the Electrical Design Engineer, and will be required to participate in team meetings.

The position will require UK and Overseas travel.

As a Promtek Service Engineer, you will be required to liaise with, and provide support interdepartmentally.

You will also have a responsibility to highlight and suggest areas of development for your own personal development.

Duties specific to the role will include: –

  • Providing professional phone based support while office based.
  • Providing 24 hour phone and onsite support as required.
  • Undertaking calibration and services for our customer base in the UK and overseas.
  • Supporting commissioning engineers in assembling, wiring and testing electrical panels.
  • Installing software modifications to exisiting sites.
  • Processing returns and repairs.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers.
  • Processing documentation for site visits.
  • Maintaining service documentation.
  • Producing Health & Safety documentation for site.
  • Ensure customer furture calibration and service requirements needs are met.

General Responsibilities will include: –

  • Math and English GCSE qualification Grade C or above is preferred.
  • 17th edition would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a customer Service based role.
