The Virgin Money London Marathon

It is, as you can imagine, a marathon effort to keep farmers supplied in all weathers, all seasons. At Promtek we know all too well the challenges and pressures facing production managers, who look after the animal feed mills that supply farmers with vital nutrition for their livestock. Our engineers support a large number of managers around the country as well as overseas, keeping their specialised, complex, just-in-time manufacturing plants running 24/7.

Scott BrimilcombeSo it came as a surprise when we learned about the challenge that the Production Manager of one of our customers, Crediton Milling Ltd, has set himself. Scott Brimilcombe is attempting to raise a target sponsorship of £2000 for the Amber Foundation Charity and run the Virgin Money London Marathon on 24th April 2016!

The Amber Foundation

amberThe Amber Foundation (charity number 1051388) is a very worthwhile cause, founded in 1995 by businessman Barty Smith. The charity works with ex-offenders, ex-drug users, alcoholics and people who have for various reasons lost self-esteem and need motivation and support to find employment and become valued members of society. Amber aims to reduce the level of unemployment within the 18-30 year age group, by giving them time and space in a residential environment, where they can rebuild their lives and develop the self-confidence and self-esteem needed to go out and seek employment.

Of course, Promtek are only too pleased to support Scott in his efforts. We have many staff in the 18-30 year age bracket, so we feel a particular affinity with the Amber cause. We are proud to sponsor his endeavours along side Crediton Milling, Orchard Packaging, Westexe Forklift Trucks, PVM Supplies and A & S Paving Supplies.

As part of his training and preparation, Scott will also be taking part in the Bideford Half Marathon on 6th March 2016 and also hopes to run the Bath Half Marathon a mere week later!

It takes a lot of guts and determination to run a feed mill AND keep up the tough training regime required to prepare for the London Marathon. We hope that you, dear reader, will consider supporting Scott and donate to his worthy cause.

Promtek wish Scott great success in reaching his sponsorship target as well as completing his training and, of course, crossing the finish line of the London Marathon itself!
